The Picture on the right is the negative image of my board, the covered spots will become black, or wood colored, and the Rebel sign will become red when I spray paint it. I have also decided that the board needs to have a little bit of flavor to it. Because the Rebels in Star Wars are always getting second class equipment, there ships usually look ragged and beat up, so I am going to add some intended "stress marks" to my board. | In this picture to the left I am working on the top of the deck. I decided to continue the all black design, only I decided to also include some pin striping just to give it a sporty type of feel. (I forgot to take a picture of the Pin- Stripes but since they are part of the boards final design, you will be able to see how they turned out then. After I sprayed the board black, I let the paint dry removed the tape and then had to re-tape the entire board this time leaving only the soon to be red symbol uncovered, the rest of the board needed to be covered so that no black parts got red on them. This proved to be very tricky as I had to redraw the image on new tape, making sure that I had all my lines lined up so that the image was properly composed. I sprayed the symbol red, removed the tape and this was the end result pretty awesome! This is what my almost finished design looks like. I have a small amount of stress in the Rebel red, It is hard to see via a picture but I promise you it is there. I will also take sand paper and create a few scuffs on the board for design. |
